Best Ways to Give Grooms an Unforgettable NJ Wedding

June 29, 2015 | Posted in Weddings

It’s no secret that in most weddings, brides tend to take center stage (whether they want to or not). All eyes are on the bride’s wedding gown, or what flowers she chose for her bouquet, or the color and cut of her bridesmaid dresses. But there are lots of ways to show the groom some love, too! Here are some ideas if you know a groom who’s feeling the wedding planning blues.

Kick your registry up a notch by letting your groom pick a few of his favorites. This could be anything from that kitchen appliance he’s dying to try or the tool set he’s had his eye on for years. Even though a bride tend to be the main gift recipient, a registry with groom gifts is a great way for the two of you to feel united. (The Knot has a fun list of groom-friendly picks if you’re in need of ideas.)

Have the groom (and his guys) play dress up. Give him a little free reign in his wardrobe choices. If your future husband isn’t normally at his best in formalwear, consider compromising by mixing in lighter or more casual fabrics. Or, let him pick out colorful cufflinks or crazy socks. Another great idea that’s been seen at our venues is to have all the groomsmen wear a themed tee shirt beneath their suits. (You’ll love what the groomsmen from the Crystal Ballroom at the Radisson Freehold did!)

Here are some funky fashions from couples at all of our New Jersey wedding venues:

Assign him a task that’s all his. Maybe your groom’s the one with the best playlists or the massive song collection. If that’s the case, get him involved with your wedding deejay. Or if he’s the real foodie, give him first picks of the hors d’oeuvres. Giving him a task that’s all his will build a sense of teamwork and trust (and it’s one less thing to worry about).

And speaking of food, the Sterling Ballroom offers tons of customizable menu options guaranteed to get any groom pumped for his wedding day. We’ve got your groom covered with our Man Cave and Bacon Me Crazy cocktail hour stations – think hot wings, calzones, and of course, lots of bacon-wrapped and bacon-infused foods. He can also enjoy specialty brews and a customized tap with our Man Cave Station upgrade.
